About Us

Who we are

E4Impact Foundation is the leading Alliance of Companies and Institutions to grow a new generation of African impact entrepreneurs and to promote Partnerships between Europe and Africa. Its main aim is to enhance the sustainable development of fast-growing economies by training impact entrepreneurs and scaling the growth of their businesses. E4Impact currently offers its programs in 12 African countries with a goal of training over 3,000 entrepreneurs, and establishing 1,000 new enterprises and thousands of new jobs in the formal economy.

In 2018, the Foundation was funded by the Italian Agency for Development Co-operation to start and manage the E4Impact Accelerator which works with Kenyan businesses:

  • Grow their Business
  • Scale their Impact
  • Facilitate Investment Fundraising
  • Provide Market Linkages to African & International markets.

Moreover, the selected entrepreneurs/innovators are involved in mentoring and coaching sessions delivered by Openet in the field of the Space Economy. They will also be directly involved in the “Space Week” that is held annually in Nairobi.

David Cheboryot​

East Africa Manager

David Cheboryot has over 10 years’ experience in the
Impact Entrepreneurship landscape. David currently the East Africa Manager at E4Impact Foundation and oversees all the entrepreneurship programs in the region Previously, David was the Managing Director of CoWA, a Kenyan Local NGO that trains SMEs in income generating activities and employment linkages.  On a regular basis, David authors an entrepreneurial column ‘The Startup Garage’ published in print and online by Kenyan Standard Newspaper. The column provides practical advice to entrepreneurs to help them scale and grow their business. He holds a degree in law from University of Nairobi and an MBA from the Università Cattolica of Milan. He is currently pursuing a PhD in Social Entrepreneurship at Tangaza University and he lectures in Business Strategy and Social Impact Measurement.

Bernadette Mutinda

Bernadette has over 13 years’ experience in Management and Administration in the Higher Education Sector. She has previously worked with the Kenya Institute of Management (KIM) in different capacities including Coordinator Graduate Programmes and the founding Branch Manager, Machakos. Prior to Joining E4Impact, Bernadette worked at the Management University of Africa (MUA) as Director, Executive Capacity Development Programmes and Lecturer, Strategic Management. Bernadette is credited for steering business growth both strategically and financially both at KIM and MUA during her tenure in different dockets,
At the E4Impact Foundation, Bernadette will deputize the Manager, East Africa and will play a pivotal role in a portfolio of activities, starting from the MBA and the accelerators (Entrepreneurship Centers) and will also participate in defining the business strategy for the Region

Isabella Tenai

Isabella is an accomplished individual with demonstrated success in project coordination, strategic planning, corporate training, teaching, motivating, and directing individuals while maintaining high interest  and achievement. She has gained experience in designing organization procedures and controls while working previously at Smart Farmer Magazine. At the E4Impact Accelerator, she brings forth her managerial skills and experience by coordinating an EU funded project operating across three agricultural value chains, managing qualified pool of service providers and setting up key business processes to ensure the sustainability of the Accelerator in Kenya.

Anthony Kimani

Investment Services Manager

Anthony has over 9 years’ experience in financial and investment services including qualifying investment opportunities, taking proven business models to scale and facilitating investment. He currently works at the E4Impact Accelerator as the Investment Services Manager where he assists businesses in designing and building of financial models, conduct company valuations and build investor relations. Previously, he has worked with innovative, growth stage and inclusive businesses across multiple sectors in Kenya, Uganda and Ethiopia. Some of the most successful transactions involve: a fast growing mobile-lending platform, a non-extractive forest products brand and a tech-enabled
agricultural supply chain start-up. He has also played business advisory roles for funded programs covering East Africa.
Anthony is a graduate of Economics from Kenyatta University and a candidate in the Chartered Financial Analysts (CFA) program.

Mario Molteni

He is a Full Professor of Business Administration and Corporate Strategy at the Catholic University of the Sacred heart, Milan. He is Founder of ALTIS, the Graduate School Business & Society of Catholic University, an international research and education institute on impact entrepreneurship and corporate sustainability. 

From 1993 to 2008, he was the Scientific Director of ISVI, Institute for Business Values, a center of research for Corporate Social Responsibility promoted by important Italian universities, businesses, banks and associations.

In 2006 he founded the CSR Manager Network, the Italian of CSR and sustainability managers from the principle Italian businesses.

In 2015 he was named Ashoka Fellow for E4Impact (Entrepreneurship for Impact).

He is the author of numerous books and scientific articles on Corporate strategy, Entrepreneurship, Corporate Social Responsibility and Social Entrepreneurship

Frank Cinque

International Market Linkages

Frank has served as Managing Director of ALTIS – Graduate School Business and Society of Catholic University of Milan since 2006. In 2010 he collaborated with Mario Molteni in the launch of E4impact initiative and in 2015 become the General Manager of the E4Impact Foundation. He lectures in various editions of  the E4Impact MBAs in Africa.

Funke Michaels

Nigerian-by-Birth, Kenyan-by-Marriage: Funké Michaels has over 21 years ‘hands-on’ sales, marketing and advertising experience – with multimillion budget brands like Coca-Cola, Peugeot, Rothmans, Heineken, Subaru and Samsung. 

Working globally across Sub-Saharan Africa, North-Africa/Middle East, Europe and the UK, Latin-America and the Caribbean as a Creative-Communications practitioner. Funke speaks 7 languages and works well across English and French-speaking communities. She has won several awards for her work in Marketing Communications, especially with new or renewed roduct introductions. She has also been a cross-functional resource for African, Caribbean and North American markets. Funke has worked in various consulting capacities for governments and multi-nationals. She is committed to fostering development and industry through collaborations between academia, entrepreneurs, and leaders of the corporate, political and humanitarian frontiers.

Funké is an MIT Sloan Fellow, and Harvard Mason Fellow; a Fellow of The Nigerian Institute of Marketing, and The Institute of Brand Management. She co-founded the MIT Africa Investment Forum which convenes on campus bi-annually. She is co-founder of The Pro-NICHE Network, a not-for-profit organization providing free concept incubation, niche-networking and consulting services for African start-ups. Funke teaches a postgraduate course in International Brand and Sales Excellence – IBX (360-Degree Marketing) at The Orange Academy, Lagos; and is on the project board of The Singing Torah in Boston, an MIT-affiliated tech start-up for the preservation and teaching of Hebrew Oral Culture. She is a member of The MIT Think Tank, and a USAID ‘Young African Leaders Initiative’ (YALI) Partner. Funké is also an author, adjunct lecturer, public speaker, culture coach and agricultural entrepreneur in East Africa.

Alessia Argiolas

Alessia holds a Master Degree in Business Management from UCSC.  She is a Phd Student at UCSC of Milan and fellow researcher at ALTIS Graduate School. Her research focuses on enterprises in the African context, with a focus on social impact and social impact measurement in organizations. 

She is affiliated to E4Impact Foundation since 2017, working as business coach and as social impact expert. She has four-year experience in mentoring start-ups teams and entrepreneurs both in Italy and in Kenya, helping organizations to develop and manage social and environmental innovations and to introduce impact accountability systems.

Dr. Giacomo Ciambotti

Dr. Giacomo Ciambotti graduated with summa cum laude at the Università Cattolica in Milan (Italy), at the M.Sc. in Strategic Management. He worked 6 months as Junior Consultant at the Tangaza University College, where he directly supported 16 Kenyan entrepreneurs in business modelling, financial modelling, business planning, market analysis.

In 2016, he joined KPMG Advisory S.p.a. as management consultant in Business Performance Services team. He grown skills and knowledge on strategic planning, controlling, target operating model, business planning & innovation, business modelling.

From November 2016, Ciambotti attended a Ph.D.  in Management & Innovation at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore (Milan). His research concerns growth strategies, and managerial dynamics of social enterprises in Africa. From 2017, he’s the Finance Stream Lead for the E4Impact Foundation in East Africa, and a management consultant in consulting projects. His experience till know involved +250 business plans analysed, +200 financial models managed, and +40 companies trained directly.

We have raised over 2.03 Million Euros in funding for our Enterprises.
