E4Impact Foundation is one of the Implementing partners for the Action to Relaunch Agriculture, And Branding Internationalization of Kenyan Cofee In And Out Of Africa  (ARABIKA), funded by the Italian Development Agency (AICS)

The organization is looking to recruit a Project Coordinator & Area Technical Manager – Branding. The position will be full-time and located in Nairobi, with travel to 7 counties for coordination.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

The Project Coordinator & Area Technical Manager – Branding will be responsible for the implementation of E4Impact Foundation Activities in the Arabika project, and a liaison between the organization and the joint project Monitoring Unit (PMU)

The key tasks and responsibilities for the role include:

  1. Training and capacity building of coffee growers and coffee associations and cooperatives with skills necessary for the development of fair value chains and readiness for exports
  2. Conduct capacity-building workshops for ToTs on managerial skills and conduct mentoring sessions.
  3. Coordinate development of training curriculum, training content, and materials (manuals/handbooks), recording and diffusion of 12 videos in local language for cascade training, and mentoring trainers for cooperatives.
  4. Lead in SMS and WhatsApp campaigns relating to the benefits associated with affiliation to the cooperatives, and related brands and development of Information flyers on the conditions of affiliation to the cooperatives and the related brands
  5. Support the project visibility actions in line with the lead applicant
  6. Coordinate a study and an action plan to define the original Kenyan coffee brands
  7. Launch of a promotional campaign for the communication of new Kenyan coffee brands in the country and abroad and participation in 3 international fairs for the tasting and launch of the original Kenyan brands
  8. Ensure that the project implementation, for what is regarding E4Impact Activities, is compliant with all AICS and common international rules, as well as to the suggestions and recommendations by the Lead Applicant (CEFA)
  9. Work closely with the finance department to ensure activities conducted are within cost eligibility in line with the approved budget and participate in all the coordination meeting sessions with the Applicant and other partners
  10. Coordinate layered activities with partners within the consortium and the county government through the County Technical Working Group and seek and foster collaborations with other actors/partners within the landscape to create synergies in activity implementation
  11. Ensure implementation of the annual work plan within the set datelines with the support of the project manager and compile quarterly, semi-annual, and annually narrative reports for the action, to ensure that activity reports are compiled immediately activities are executed
  12. Ensure documentation of minutes of meetings held with consortium partners and Technical Working Group on-field implementation
  13. Ensuring adherence to the action log frame in project implementation and coordinating monitoring and evaluation activities for the project.

Minimum Qualifications and Professional Experience Required

  1. Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in a business-related field
  2. At least 3 years’ relevant working experience with cooperatives monitoring
  3. Experience in business development, marketing export, and trading across agricultural value chains. Working experience in the Coffee value chain is an added advantage.
  4. Demonstrate experience in the implementation of milestone-based projects.
  5. Strong interpersonal and communication skills
